The Lavabo Set, which consists of a pitcher (Ewer) and bowl (basin) is used during Mass by the Priest to wash his hands prior to the Consecration. ย The word "lavabo" comes from the Latin phrase Lavabo inter innocentes manus meas, which means "I will wash my hands in innocence" from Psalm 26:6.
