The Lavabo Set, which consists of a pitcher (Ewer) and bowl (basin) is used during Mass by the Priest to wash his hands prior to the Consecration. The word "lavabo" comes from the Latin phrase Lavabo inter innocentes manus meas, which means "I will wash my hands in innocence" from Psalm 26:6.
